Following this post of mine on mastodon.radio, I realized I could generate tones for a fox operating on FM. This would be something to not necessarily to rival other VHF/UHF foxes, but would be nice to have.

Tone generation:

Hardware I/O:

  • (I)nput could (eventually) be for DTMF tones?
  • (O)utput would be to what? Either a standard 3.5mm TRRS cable, or something more versatile?
    • look at what common HTs use for inputs
    • possible to switch the wiring in software through web UI? Would be more complex, but more versatile.

I have a Yaesu FT-60 and a Baofeng UV-5RTP that I could use for testing on VHF/UHF.
